Graveyard Wanderings in Galveston Texas

I love visiting Galveston and this old cemetery is always my first stop.
Today we are remembering the Blanton family.
This beautiful old tombstone is for
John B Blanton
born Dec 26 1872
died Aug 23 1891
Mary R Blanton
born Mar 24 1847
died Dec 24 1926
Emma R Blanton
born Dec 14 1869
died May 28 1951
I went to http://www.ancestry.com/ and did a search using John's name and found him and his family in the 1880's census. http://search.ancestry.com/cgi-bin/sse.dll?db=1880usfedcen&indiv=try&h=40459222
Mary is the mother and is widowed. John and Emma are 2 of 3 children, the third child is William. There are 2 others living in the home at this time, one being her mother. The other person is listed as not family. They are living in Galveston, Texas at this time.
and hope some day a family member will find them through this posting, http://www.findagrave.com/ or http://www.ancestry.com/ and find this wonderful tombstone honoring their family.
Thank you for stopping by and visiting the wanderings of this graveyardrabbit ... Grace
