Tombstone Tuesday Duluth Minnesota Duncan and Sarah McNee at Forest Hill Cemetery

Last Saturday was a beautiful day here in northern Minnesota. Sun was shining, sky blue and in the upper 50's. As we were out hunting garage sales we passed the Forest Hill cemetery where my family is buried. After the garage sales made a stop there for about 20 minutes to take some pictures.

It is such a beautiful cemetery with pond, ducks, geese and well maintained.

Will be posting some of the pictures from there over the next days and will post on http://www.findagrave.com/ if needed there.

Tombstone Tuesday Visiting My Late Father In Law Lowell R Johnson

This weekend we took a trip to the twin cities of Minnesota. We visited family and friends, went to a flea market and took a trip out to visit my dh father's grave. We had not been there in the last few years because of living out of state.

It was a beautiful day and a perfect time to make the trip. He is buried Minnetoka Minnesota in a small little cemetery called Groveland. My dh grew up in this area so we also drove areas where he lived, worked, played and swam. His elementary school over looks the cemetery.

This is my father in law's last resting place. He was a big powerful man. An inventor, engineer and always the business man. I only knew him for 7 years but he was always kind, sweet and interested in what I was doing. Rest in peace Lowell. You are loved by many.

Tombstone Tuesday my Great Grandparents Arthur and Mabel Hall

Wandering the Internet to search for family members gravestones can be an interesting endeavor. Recently I was looking for my great grandparents Arthur R and Mabel ( Coleman )Hall and was not able to find them on http://www.findagrave.com/. Next step was to put out requests of contributors in the area they were known to be buried that being Crawford Nebraska. Within a couple of days I had my answer and I could find a picture of their gravestone at http://nebraskagravestones.org/ .

One by one I am on the hunt for the gravestones of my family members. One cemetery to the next by car or by Internet.

Tombstone Tuesday My Great Great Grandparents Gravestone Flavious and Anne Millsap in Kansas

This is the gravestone of my great great grandparents Anne (Woodmansee) and Flavious Millsap.

I knew about them and had a picture of both of them thanks to http://www.ancestry.com/ . I even now have a copy of Anne's obituary thanks to searching the Internet . You can read the obituary and more about her at http://www.myfamilyrootsrundeep.blogspot.com/ .
My next search was to try and find her and my great great grandfather gravestone.
I went to http://www.findagrave.com/ . First I searched Kansas for Anne Millsap nothing found. Next search was Flavious once again nothing found. Last searched just the last name of Millsap in Kansas and found a page of Millsaps buried in the Syracuse Cemetery in Syracuse, Kansas. Flavious and Anne's tombstone is identified by F. A. and Annie.
Now I have their gravestone and know that some one called her Annie. They are buried side by side in the Syracuse Cemetery, Syracuse, Kansas.
I find it such a gift that someone has taken a picture of their tombstone in Kansas and I can view a picture of it sitting here at home in Texas.
Thank You For Stopping By... Hope You Stop By Again ... Grace
