This precious little grave is for
Our dear son

So sad to see baby graves and you know the pain the parents were feeling at this time.

Mondays I Mourn for the Bakers of Richmond

Tonight's post is for a young family that died so young

Jas B Baker born March 19 1867 died January 7 1899 and his wife

Bessie born February 5 1867 died January 29 1898

Their grave stone is so beautiful. There is a curtain covering the top and a book laying on top of the gravestone..
A book found on a cemetery tombstone can represent many different things, including the book of life, often represented as the Bible. I would picture the Bible would be open this one is closed.
A book on a gravestone may also depict learning, a scholar.
The curtain I am not sure of could be an actor or could be the curtain of life.
All of this I do not know but is beautiful.
If any one has any ideas I would love to hear them.

Mondays We Mourn For The Bertrand Family

Today we mourn for the loss of these 2 babies of W T and W M Bertrand
Infant daughter died April 8 1893
Infant son November 12 1900

and their parents Willie May Shelton

They are buried in the Morton Cemetery in Richmond Texas. I found them at http://www.ancestry/ in the 1920 census living in Richmond Texas.
With them is buried Dorothy Bertrand born 1897 died 1954 . I was guessing her to be a daughter but in the 1920 census there is a Dorothy Henry married to Lawson Henry.

Mondays I Mourn for baby Robert McNabb

Pictured is the gravestone of a precious baby. Only 7 months old. We can just image the pain the parents were feeling when they buried their little baby. Mondays I mourn for a baby lost.
Here is the cemetery grave stone of Robert B Mc Nabb born December 04 1903 Died July 07 1904. Pictured in front of his grave stone is what looks like two little lambs. On one is written " Our Special Darling Baby. I can not make out what is written on the other lamb but looks like Little Mc Nabb
